Week of October 19 – October 25, 2026

· 5 min read
An autumn farmers market in a small-town Washington square with wooden stalls, pumpkins, winter squash, and apples under golden maple trees

This is the week the markets wind down. The Centralia Farmers Market holds its final market of the season Saturday morning, and the Chehalis Farmers Market slips into its second-to-last Tuesday. Around them, a free community panel on the region's forests gathers at Centralia College, the county board holds its weekly business meeting, and the Lucky Eagle keeps its Friday and Saturday music series going. Here is what is happening around Lewis County from Monday, October 19 through Sunday, October 25.

Chehalis Farmers Market

Tuesday, October 20 · 10 AM – 3 PM

NE Boistfort St & N Market Blvd, Downtown Chehalis · Free admission

Only two Tuesdays are left after this one, so this is the week to fill the bag. The Chehalis Farmers Market keeps its full October lineup on Tuesday: apples by the bag, winter squash, pumpkins, cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, garlic, and greens, alongside cheeses, farm-fresh eggs, honey, artisan breads, jams, cut flowers, and handmade crafts. The market accepts SNAP/EBT and WIC/FMNP benefits, runs rain or shine, and is a gentle, neighborly way to spend a Tuesday morning in downtown Chehalis while the maples turn gold overhead. The season wraps up on Tuesday, October 27, so make the most of the next two visits.

Lewis County Board of Commissioners

Tuesday, October 20 · 10 AM

Hearing Room, Historic Courthouse, 351 NW North St, Chehalis · Open to the public

The county's weekly business meeting happens Tuesday morning at 10 AM in the board's Hearing Room on the second floor of the Historic Courthouse. Agendas are posted in advance on the county's website so you can see what is on the docket for late October, from land use to roads to the fall budget, and weigh in during public comment. It is one of the simplest, most direct ways to take part in local government and stay in the loop on the issues shaping Lewis County. The county also holds its Monday wrap-up and Wednesday directors' update sessions each week if you want to follow along more closely.

The Forests Around You

Thursday, October 22 · 3 PM

TransAlta Commons, Centralia College · Free and open to the public

Forestry is the backbone of Lewis County, and this free community panel is a chance to talk about it with the people who study and manage it. Hosted by the Economic Alliance of Lewis County, "The Forests Around You" brings together panelists on forest management, wildfire risk, habitat and water quality, climate and carbon, and the jobs and local economy that depend on the trees. It is the first of two forestry events the Alliance has on the fall calendar, ahead of the Woody Biomass Conference in November, and a genuinely neighborly way to spend a Thursday afternoon learning about the working forests that surround every corner of the county. Seating is open to everyone, no registration mentioned in advance.

Legends Live On Stage at Lucky Eagle Casino

Friday, October 23 & Saturday, October 24 · 9 PM – Midnight

Legends Sports Bar, Lucky Eagle Casino, 12888 188th St SW, Rochester

For a night of live music close to home, the Legends Sports Bar at Lucky Eagle carries on its Friday and Saturday tradition with Legends Live On Stage, a weekly series of tribute and cover acts that runs both nights from 9 PM to midnight. It is the kind of easygoing, walk-in music room where you can grab a seat, order dinner from the bar, and let the band do the rest. The lineup for the weekend is posted on the casino's events page, so give it a look before you head out. It is a reliable, friendly option for a date night or a catch-up with friends as the evenings turn cooler.

Centralia Farmers Market

Saturday, October 24 · 9 AM – Noon

Downtown Square, Centralia · Free admission

This is the one to mark on the calendar: Saturday, October 24 is the final Centralia Farmers Market of the 2026 season. The market has held down the Downtown Square every second and fourth Saturday from April through October, and this is the last chance until spring to shop the stalls in person. Expect the fall finale lineup of harvest produce, locally grown goodies, and handmade crafts, all in the friendly open-air setting of the square from 9 AM to noon. It is the perfect excuse for a downtown morning, and a lovely way to send the market season off until next year.

Also happening this week

The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce hosts an armchair-travel info night, "Travel: Tuscany!" on Tuesday, October 20, a friendly gathering to learn about the Chamber's upcoming group trip to the Italian countryside. Also Tuesday, the Lewis County Quakers hold their weekly open gathering from 10 to 11:30 AM in the Fred Hess Kitchen Meeting Room at 221 SW 13th St in Chehalis, and the Red Thread Circle meets at 5:30 PM at 403 N Market Blvd #1 for an evening of conversation on the theme "What Is Mine to Hold?" On Wednesday, Insert Coin Centralia downtown runs its weekly Eat & Play Day, a game-card deal that makes a casual midweek night out easy.

The Timberland Regional Library branches in Centralia and Chehalis keep their free storytimes and teen hangouts running all week as a no-cost way to get the kids into the community. For evening entertainment, McFiler's Chehalis Theater & Bar (543 NW Pacific Ave) runs karaoke Monday, Friday, and Saturday nights and live trivia on Tuesday at 6 PM, while The Hub Bar & Grill in Centralia (110 S Tower Ave) hosts karaoke Tuesday and Friday nights and trivia on Wednesday at 6 PM. Friendly spots to unwind with neighbors as the season turns.

And a look ahead: the Chehalis Farmers Market closes its season on Tuesday, October 27, and the Centralia Fall Festival and Halloween Parade brings the whole county downtown on Saturday, October 31, with a children's costume contest at 10:30 AM, a children's parade at 11 AM, the main Halloween parade, a chili cook-off, and a best-dressed pet contest. The spooky season is right around the corner.

This is the week to stock the pantry and circle Halloween: catch the final Centralia market of the season, talk forest stewardship at Centralia College, and squeeze the last market Tuesdays for all they are worth.
